Sugata Mitra is a physicist and Professor of Educational Technology at Newcastle University, UK. Years ago he placed a computer in a wall in an Indian village, and slowly everybody in town – especially children – were using it, as an example of what he calls “Minimally Invasive Education”. He is now encouraging retired people to teach informally on the Internet and developing “Self Organised Learning Environments” where children manage their own learning. He won the 2013 TED Prize to make his idea a reality.
